The client
Southwark is one of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs with over a hundred different languages spoken. The Southwark Council is leading a regeneration programme valued at around £4 billion and involving 40% of the region. The council’s Economic Development Group is responsible for the implementation of Southwark's employment and enterprise strategies.

The brief
We were charged with delivering strategic communications campaigns to support and promote the regeneration of Southwark’s employment and enterprise.

The solution
We supported the regeneration communication team to influence communication strategy and planned activity. We utilised press, publications, ambient and new media to communicate the work to audiences ranging from local people to government bodies and commercial developers.

We managed the design and delivery of an effective Direct Mail campaign helping to raise awareness and attract people to Southwark services. This improved inter agency referrals and promoted simple seamless and efficient services for individuals seeking into-work support. As a result Southwark Works! became a benchmark for how to drive employment at the community level.

We provided event support at exhibitions and conferences generating positive profile for key regeneration and economic development initiatives in Southwark. In addition to this we utilised the councils Content Management System to create and manage web content for the Economic Development Group’s website supporting communication with residents, business and other key stakeholders.
