The client
At 350 years old, Royal Mail is the world’s oldest postal service. Each day they collect, process and deliver more than 80 million items to 27 million addresses. Employing more than 180,000 people they provide services that include workflow management, print-production and delivery, data management, warehousing, fulfilment and marketing communication.
The brief
We were tasked with developing Royal Mail’s government sector markets valued in excess of £500 million. Delivering a range of key marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth and support new proposition development over a 12 month period.
The solution
We analysed Royal Mail’s government sector markets and determined initial opportunities for revenue growth. We developed both strategic and tactical marketing initiatives and delivered an aggressive development plan with 23 market propositions and supporting materials.
Generating sales opportunities and supporting Royal Mail’s sales channel deployment process we delivered several Direct Marketing campaigns. During this ‘go to market’ process we also produced sales and customer journey mapping and sales collateral. As a result, revenue targets for a new market initiative were exceeded by more than 200% against the original forecast.
Delivering a successful series of direct marketing workshops we helped to support the overall sponsorship programme and enhance industry stakeholder relationships. In addition we provided creative agency, PR and event management as part of the market development plan.
Supporting the overall marketing strategy we delivered a comprehensive remodeling of the Government Sector website and developed online marketing communication facilities for both the intranet and internet.
